The RX Family of microcontrollers continues to evolve as 32-bit flash microcontrollers for industrial, consumer, and office automation applications. Renesas' independently developed high-performance RX CPU core combines the advantages of high-speed RISC CPU designs with those of flexible, code-efficient CISC designs. Renesas offers a broad range of products in a scalable lineup, from the 32 MHz RX100 to the 240 MHz RX700. CPU core, peripheral function, development environment, and pin arrangement compatibility is maintained, making it possible to migrate smoothly between products in this broad lineup to support development of a platform for end products.

The RX200 has the best mix of low power consumption and high performance in the RX Family.
The RX600 is the high-speed and high-performance series in the RX family.
The series is positioned as the upward successor to the H8SX and R32C, the 32-bit families of Renesas MCUs.
The RX700 is the high-end series of the RX Family. This product series is positioned as the successor to the Renesas 32-bit SuperH and V850 microcontroller families.
