Voice-over-Internet-Protocol (VoIP) technology is one of the factors driving
the convergence between traditional voice networks such as the Public Switched
Telephone Network (PSTN) and data networks such as the Internet. Utilising its
SuperH CPU technology and software expertise, Renesas offers a low cost
hardware and software solution for implementing VoIP designs in a variety of
applications. The solution provides the essential building blocks for
real-time voice processing that requires the highest level of quality of
service (QoS) and interoperability. System designers can now quickly and
economically integrate VoIP functions into modems, telephones, set-top-boxes,
fax machines and many other products.
