Overview

The increasing use of air conditioning in domestic usage is driving the demand for reduced power consumption and smaller compressors units. And, the need to maintain a comfortable indoor temperature, means that fine-grained control based on multiple sensor inputs is required.

To help designers realize these functions Renesas provides an extensive line up of microcontrollers designed specifically for use in indoor and outdoor air conditioning units and for use in remote controls. The 78K0R/Ix3 and R8C/2K are a low pin count microcontroller enabling a low cost solution for inverter control in outdoor units, the 78K0R/Kx3-L and the M16C/63 Group are designed for indoor units, the 179K Series and 38D2 Group of LCD MCUs are for use in remote controls. Renesas delivers solutions optimized to customer requirements.
